The Hampshire Hilly Hundred 2010

HHH2010 will take place on Sunday, 9th May. HQ: Sparsholt College, near Winchester.

Q: I'm concerned that I might not manage the full distance. Is there a shorter route?

A: Yes, there will be an opportunity at Micheldever Station to opt out of the northern section. This reduces the route from 100 miles to approximately 76 miles. You can make the decision on the road whether to ride the HHH Super Max (100 miles), or the HHH Midi (76 miles).

Q If I only intend to ride the HHH Midi course, may I pay a lower entry fee?

A:  Sorry! It's £22 for everyone.

Q:  Can I enter on the day?

A: NO.  Accepted riders and notified reserves only, please.

Q:  How will the start be organized, and when does the event start?

A: Please don't envisage a mass start like the Etape! As the HHH uses open roads, participants will be released in non-road clogging batches. Registration from 7.30 am.The phased start is scheduled for between 8.00 am and 9.30, on the assumption that even if the last people to set off (at 9.30) go round the course at an average 16.66 mph, they will still get back at a reasonable 3.30 pm.  Any late changes to this schedule will be e-mailed to all entrants and posted here.

Q: I'm planning on coming by train to Winchester, then cycling to the event. Can I have a late start?

A: NO. We've allowed it in the past, and not only are we kept waiting and waiting at the start, we're kept waiting into the early evening for the same people to finish. Better to arrive on the Saturday and B&B locally or book a guest room at Sparsholt College.
