The Hampshire Hilly Hundred 2008

THE RESULTS LIST BY NUMBER IS HERE AND BY TIME IS HERE    HHH2008 took place on 18 May

"Fabulous route - how did you arrange for no traffic at all, over 100 miles?" (John B)

"Thank you for organising the route on Sunday. I have never entered a sportive of that magnitude, and thought it was very well organised. It was rather testing in my opinion, and the Watership down hill in Kinsclere was brutal, especially after 70 odd miles - cannot wait to do my next one." (Simon K)

"I will be back next year and will bring more of my club mates." (Michael M)

"A genuine hats off to all the people who organised the event." (Rob C)

"Just a quick mail to say thank you very much for organising the event. It was clearly signposted, well-marshalled and thought out, and the assistants at the feeding stops were very courteous. Thanks again." (Sean S)

"I really enjoyed the ride - helped, it has to be said, by the great weather. I thought that the course was fair - not just up every steep climb that the organizer could find.  In some of the events I have done the down hills are so steep and narrow that you are on the brakes the whole time. Not the case today. HHH offers proper high speed riding in beautiful countryside which I enjoyed" (Nick H)

"Many thanks for a great day's cycling" (Mark R)

"Just wanted to say a BIG, BIG THANK YOU to you guys & gals for making yesterday's event truly terrific. The course markings were great and easy to spot. The route was wkd (apart from the Hell of the South over the last 3 miles or so!). The feed stops were ideally placed and the weather could not have been kinder. The flapjack was (almost) worth marrying (someone) for and the bananas, water, fruit cake and jam sandwiches were heartily welcome at that point in the proceedings...a BIG UP FOR YOU GUYS!" (another John B)
[It was Freya (8) on the flapjacks! (ed.)]

"Thanks for putting on such an excellent race. The people at the feed stations were fantastic as was everybody helping/officiating" (Stephanie)

"Thanks for a great day - what a wonderful route - lovely countryside - and I saw very few cars all day. Good calibre riders - it made me raise my game a bit! The hills were fine and I particularly enjoyed the variety from switchback to longer haul as well as one or two of the very steep sections. It was no issue that some of the small roads were a bit gritty - I just took a bit more care - but it was the use of the smaller roads that made this an excellent ride with a variety of terrain and much less traffic. I'd recommend the ride to anyone!" (Nick P)

"Thanks for all the efforts yesterday. What a fabulous event!!! Great route, weather, organisation..." (John H)

"Thanks for organising the ride - we really enjoyed the day!" (Geoff P)

"A well run event, well posted, a good day. Hope to see you next year" (James)
